Research Engineer in Generative AI and Multimodal Models for Healthcare
As part of the ENACT Cluster, the GAIA platform at the ICube Laboratory (Hôpital Civil Campus, Strasbourg, France) is recruiting a Research Engineer specialized in Generative AI and Multimodal Models for Healthcare.
Your Role
You will contribute to the development of vision-language and multimodal AI models for the joint analysis of medical images, videos and clinical text. Research activities include surgical activity analysis, multimodal operating room data processing, and AI-assisted medical report generation using Large Language Models (LLMs), fine-tuning and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
You will work closely with academic, clinical and industrial partners on cutting-edge digital health research projects.
Profile
- PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Machine Learning or a related field.
- Experience in deep learning, vision-language models (VLMs) and generative AI.
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with modern AI frameworks.
- Early-career researchers and recent PhD graduates are encouraged to apply.
Working Conditions
- Location: ICube Laboratory – Hôpital Civil Campus, Strasbourg, France
- One-year fixed-term contract, renewable
- Salary based on qualifications and experience
- 42 days of annual leave plus 9.5 RTT days (51.5 days per year)
