MICCAI 2026 to be held in Strasbourg

The MICCAI 2026 conference (Medical Image Computing and Computer-Assisted Intervention) will take place in Strasbourg, France, from September 27 to October 1, 2026.

One of the world's leading conferences in medical imaging, artificial intelligence for healthcare, computer-assisted intervention, and medical robotics, MICCAI brings together researchers, clinicians, industry leaders, and innovators each year to present the latest scientific and technological advances in the field.

The relocation of the 2026 conference was officially announced by the MICCAI Society on April 13. Originally scheduled to be held in Abu Dhabi, the conference will now take place in Strasbourg, thanks to the efforts of the organizing teams and partners involved in the transition.

The announcement carries particular significance for Strasbourg and its scientific community. The city was originally selected to host MICCAI in 2021, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced the conference to move to a fully virtual format.

ICube will play an active role in organizing the 2026 edition, with Caroline Essert serving as Local Chair and Representative alongside the international organizing committee.

Hosting an event of this scale is a major opportunity to highlight Strasbourg's strengths in medical imaging, artificial intelligence, and digital health, while reinforcing the visibility of its research and innovation ecosystem.
