Séminaire au LGECO : Engineering a Bridge to Biology

October 16, 2014
14:00

Titre : Engineering a Bridge to Biology

Résumé : Engineers have constructed our world according to their rules; we have to reconstruct it according to nature's rules if we are to combat climate change and environmental degradation. Data show that whereas technology relies on energy and material resources to solve problems of design and manufacture, nature uses information and structure yielding safety and sustainability. The change-over is possible and requires no knowledge of biology, but needs the will to adapt and  some novel techniques of information technology.
