Séminaire : Electronic properties at interfaces with conjugated organic molecules

April 4, 2013
11:00

Title : Electronic properties at interfaces with conjugated organic molecules

Abstract : For the last two decades, much research effort has been devoted towards a better understanding of fundamentals and working principles of organic-based devices. In this presentation, we will review some recent achievements realized by studying interfaces based on small organic molecules using photoelectron spectroscopy. We will first examine few examples where the interfacial electronic properties are shown to impact strongly on the characteristics of organic photovoltaic solar cells [1,2]. In a second part, we will address in detail the electronic properties of selected model planar organic hetero-junctions formed on metals and conductive substrates in order to obtain a comprehensive picture of the phenomena ruling the energy level alignment for these systems [3,4].
