Titre : Working Urban Wetlands: Where Blue and Green Infrastructure Meet to Solve Problems

Résumé : Il concerne les infrastructures vertes de type zone humide qui sont utilisées en milieu urbain afin de fournir un certain nombre de services écosystémiques : traitement de l’eau, diminution de l’effet d’ilot de chaleur urbain, entretien/restauration de la biodiversité, loisirs récréatifs, etc.

Bio : Dan Childers is a Professor in the School of Sustainability at Arizona State University. He is co-Director of the Urban Sustainability Research Coordination Network, which is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). He has also been the Director of both the Florida Coastal Everglades Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) Program and the Central Arizona-Phoenix LTER Program.  His research focuses on wetland ecosystems ecology, urban ecology, and sustainability science.  Dan has conducted research in many different freshwater and estuarine ecosystems around the world, including working for nearly 15 years in the Florida Everglades. In the last decade he has expanded his research portfolio to include urban ecosystems, water dynamics in cities, and urban wetlands. Dan has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles, won grants that have totaled over $28 million, and advised more than 30 Ph.D. and M.S. students.
