Title : New parallel architecture for medical interactive simulations

Abstract : We present solutions to effectively exploit the new highly parallel architectures, in the context of simulations of deformable objects in real time. First, we will present parallelization techniques to efficiently solve large sparse linear solvers, coupled with asynchronous preconditioning techniques. Then we will present a GPU-based collision detection method to determine intersection volumes between deformable objects, and we will show how to compute an accurate collision response compatible with real time computations. Finally, we will illustrate our contributions in a range of medical applications.
