Application areas

As a leading research force in healthcare, ICube conducts interdisciplinary research at the highest international level, collaborating with numerous academic and industrial partners.

Its work spans the development of new medical imaging systems, patient data analysis, creation of biomechanical models and surgical robots, and the production of software leveraging artificial intelligence to support innovative approaches in prognosis, diagnosis, and personalized treatment.

ICube conducts cutting-edge research to deepen our understanding of ecosystems and the environment, and to support the advancement of society and the technologies it relies on. This work addresses climate change and the urgent challenges posed by global environmental limits.

Its research covers resource management—particularly water—agriculture, forestry, the study of urban phenomena such as heat islands and flooding, and the development of more efficient energy production and management for transportation and buildings.

ICube is helping shape the factory of the future by integrating sustainable development and corporate social responsibility into industrial innovation. The laboratory designs and transfers technologies for tomorrow’s industry, working closely with a wide range of partners — from start-ups that emerged from its research to major international groups.

Its work ranges from connecting production systems and equipment, to managing factories and their information networks — both physically and virtually — and developing new methods for designing technologies, organizations, and production systems.

The laboratory

Created in 2013, the ICube laboratory brings together more than 700 researchers, lecturers, and engineers working at the crossroads of the digital and physical worlds. Unified by imaging, ICube combines engineering and computer science to connect information, matter, and life, transforming research into innovation for the benefit of society.
